My best easy recipe loved by both children and adults is Milk Jelly. Simply melt a jelly tablet in 1/4 pint water. Beat until stiff, add a tin of chilled evaporated milk and mix together. Allow to set for a couple of hours and enjoy! What could be simpler for an enjoyable desert out of the store cupboard.

For a 2-year-old, my favourite recipe is haddock in a white sauce. You need a small haddock fillet, milk, butter, pepper and a bay leaf. Put a bit of butter in a pan and add the haddock, let it cook for a couple of minutes and add a bit of milk, just enough to almost cover the fish. Add the bay leaf and let cook for a couple of minutes, until the fish is ready. In the meantime, you can prepare some couscous, serve the haddock on the top with the sauce and sprig with parsley.

For a 1- to 2-year-old, my favourite recipe is organic wholewheat pasta with good quality cashew pesto and any sort of veggies thrown in. My son can't get enough of it
